Bahia Santa Elena is part of the Santa Rosa National Park and a park fee should be paid however park officals rarely visit the bay.
Approaches
Rocks and islands extending north of Punta Isla are clearly visible. Staying in the centre of the channel provides a clear route into the bay. Bahia Santa Elena is lined with mangroves but at low tide sand strips emerge in the SE and SW corners of the bay.
Anchorage
Anchor on the west side of the bay in 3m on a sand. Dinghy ashore but be careful landing on the beach during a Papagayo when bay gets very choppy. Sea snakes and jellyfish have been reported in the water here.
Facilities
None. A dirt road runs close to the south side of the bay leading to several good hiking trails.
